Bi-Directional Rotary Plow
Bi-Directional Rotary Plow
A rotary plow is a soil-shaping tool that cuts, lifts, and throws soil to form raised beds, trenches, swales, or berms with minimal disturbance to soil structure. Unlike moldboard plows that invert the soil or tillers that churn it top to bottom, rotary plow blades spin horizontally, lifting and moving soil without disturbing its natural layers. This non-inverting action preserves topsoil while creating deep, aerated beds ready for planting. Soil can also be directed from pathways to mound over untilled ground, forming new growing areas efficiently.
What sets the Bertolini rotary plow apart is its exclusive bi-directional design. With a simple hand lever, the operator can reverse the direction and angle of blade rotation at the end of each pass, working the bed effectively from both sides. The plow can be operated flat or inclined at 19° or 38° to vary soil throw distance and achieve the desired mound profile.
Heavy-duty blades are engineered to deflect rocks and handle demanding conditions, while the overall design remains lighter than other rotary plows, eliminating the need for additional ballasts for optimal balance. No additional wheel extensions are necessary, simply adjust the tractor wheels to their widest mount setting.
